Terms of use

wire.cash (Wire Cash, "we") is an independent website. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What the site is

Wire Cash publishes what US banks say they charge to send and receive wires, their published cutoff times, what transfer providers print on their own pricing pages, and a calculator that compares the quotes you type in against the European Central Bank's reference exchange rate. It also publishes guides on wires, remittances and wire fraud.

We are not a bank, a money transmitter, a payments provider or a financial adviser. We never send, receive or hold money for anyone, and we can't start, stop, recall or trace a transfer. For that, contact your bank or provider.

Information, not advice

Everything here is general information. It is not financial, tax or legal advice for your situation, and it is not a recommendation to use any bank or provider. Reading the site or writing to us doesn't create an advisory or other professional relationship.

Estimates, not offers

The calculator gives an estimate from the numbers you enter and the dated reference rate shown. It is not a quote or an offer from anyone. The ECB publishes its reference rates for information purposes only; no one is obliged to trade at them. A bank or provider's own disclosure at the time you pay is what counts. For a consumer international transfer, federal rules require the provider to show you the exchange rate, its fees and the amount the recipient gets before you pay.

Data sources and dates

Each bank's fees come from that bank's published fee schedule or help page, linked on the bank's page with the document's date and the date we checked it. Exchange rates come from the ECB, dated on every page that uses them. Corridor costs come from the World Bank's Remittance Prices Worldwide survey, with its survey period. Banks and providers change prices without notice, so a figure can be out of date even though we recheck them. See About for how the figures are collected.

What you send us

When you use a form you confirm that what you send is accurate and yours to send, and you let us use it to reply to you and to correct the site. Please don't send account numbers, ID numbers or passwords. How we handle what you send is in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, to send spam or malware, to interfere with how it runs, or to scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others. The downloads and the data page are there so you don't need to scrape.

Our content and the data licence

The text, design and graphics belong to wire.cash. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back. The fee and rate tables and files on the data page are offered under the licence stated there (CC BY 4.0 for our compilation, with the ECB's terms applying to its rates). Bank and provider names are their owners' trademarks, used only to identify them.

Links to other sites

We link to banks, providers, regulators and data sources so you can check figures at the source. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them. A link isn't an endorsement, and no bank or provider pays us for a link or a listing. If that ever changes, the paid link will be labeled next to it.

No warranties

The site is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, wire.cash is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses from using the site or relying on it, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

If you misuse the site or break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem with the site, tell us first at hello@wire.cash or through the contact form; most things can be fixed that way, and we'll try for 30 days before either side files anything.

If that doesn't resolve it, any dispute will be decided by individual binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, not in court, and not as a class or representative action. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@wire.cash (or sending a "Legal notice" through the contact form) within 30 days of first using the site, with your name and a line saying you opt out.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date forward.

Contact and legal notices

Questions, corrections and legal notices: hello@wire.cash, or the contact form (choose "Legal notice" for anything formal).
