Sending abroad from PNC Bank
PNC charges $40 self-service ($50 with an agent) for an international wire in US dollars and $5 self-service for one in foreign currency ($50 with an agent).
The exchange rate is a second charge
PNC's fee schedule says only that foreign-currency wires use its applicable exchange rate. It discloses no markup figure.
That markup does not appear on the fee schedule. Ask the bank for the rate before you confirm, then compare it with the reference rate in the calculator below to see what it costs in dollars.
Who pays less
Performance Select and Virtual Wallet with Performance Select pay nothing for domestic incoming and outgoing wires. International fees still apply.
Cutoff times
Self-service wires go out during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, under PNC's wire agreement. A branch cutoff is not published.
Worth knowing
- PNC also offers a separate International Money Transfer service at $5 self-service or $10 with an agent, where available.
Of the 17 banks in our table, 5 charge less for a standard outgoing domestic wire. See the full table.

Reference rate: ECB, 2026-10-23
How it works: the cost of a quote is everything you pay minus what the money the recipient gets is worth at the mid-market rate. That catches a fee and an exchange-rate markup in one number. Assumes the fee is paid on top of the amount sent; if a provider takes its fee out of the amount, enter what the recipient gets instead of the rate. The mid-market rate is the ECB euro reference rate crossed to dollars. ECB reference rates are published for information purposes only.
